The Area Calculator helps you find the area of all common shapes like rectangles, circles, triangles, ellipses, and trapezoids using just a few values. It’s fully browser-based, so you can use it instantly to solve geometry problems, prep designs, or double-check your math. Whether you’re figuring out floor space, fabric coverage, or land plots, this tool simplifies the process and gives you results on the fly.

You just enter the dimensions, choose the shape, and the answer appears instantly. It even includes extras like rounding, clean formatting, and m² display if you want to show units.

Options
Round result
Trim trailing zeros
Show m²

How to Use:

  • Enter your values in the input fields:
    • For rectangles: Length and Width
    • For triangles: Base and Height
    • For circles: Radius only
    • For ellipses: Axis A and Axis B
    • For trapezoids: Base A, Base B, and Height
  • Select the correct mode using the shape radio buttons
  • Use the toggles in the Options box:
    • Round result – rounds to 6 decimal places (on by default)
    • Trim trailing zeros – removes .000000
    • Show m² – adds unit to the output
  • View the live result in the output box

What Area Calculator can do:

This tool calculates the area for five common shapes using standard formulas:

  • Rectangle: length × width
  • Triangle: ½ × base × height
  • Circle: π × r²
  • Ellipse: π × a × b
  • Trapezoid: ((a + b) / 2) × height

It updates instantly when you change values, includes options to format the output, and is perfect for both school and work. You can copy results, download them, or share clean answers with units.

Example:

Mode: Circle
Input:

Radius = 5

Output:

78.539816 m²

Area Calculator Table:

This table shows example area calculations for common shapes using realistic dimensions. It helps illustrate how area formulas work in different scenarios like flooring a room, painting a wall, or covering a circular table. You can use it to cross-check your answers or understand how changing one measurement affects the total area.
